Re: APOLLO 20 ALIEN SPACESHIP ON THE MOON CSM FLYOVER 8 By ValValiantThor The main feature of this video comes during the second half, which shows a "normalized" version of the 16MM film of the alien craft shot by L. Marietta Snyder during her CSM flyovers. The problem with that video is that it is difficult to make out what the craft actually looks like, close up. So, the second half of this video shows the usable shots, rotated, tone adjusted, scaled, and bit-bended, which gives the appearance of a rather large ship, close up. The video begins with the AS15-P-9625 zooming in. Then the AS15-P-9625 shot morphs into the AS20-1020 shot, also zooming in. Then, when AS20-1020 starts to get fuzzy, it morphs into the shot of the ship taken with the Westinghouse color TV camera. For this effect, the main image is a composite of four different frames from the original video taken during Apollo 20 CSM flyover. This composite was tone adjusted and desaturated to bring out more detail. Finally, the Westinghouse TV camera shot morphs into a composite of the ship taken by Leona using a 16MM movie camera. The Apollo 20 crew patch displayed at the beginning was manually restored from a low-res screen capture of CDR Rutledge's previous postings. AGM-65 Maverick By jaglavaksoldier The AGM-65 Maverick is an air-to-ground tactical missile (AGM) designed for close air support. It is effective against a wide range of tactical targets, including armor, air defenses, ships, ground transportation, and fuel storage facilities. The AGM-65F (infrared targeting) used by the US Navy has an infrared guidance system optimized for ship tracking and a larger penetrating warhead than the shaped charge used by the US Marine Corps and the US Air Force (300 pounds (136 kg) vs 125 pounds (57 kg)). The infrared TV camera enables the pilot to lock onto targets through light fog where the conventional TV seeker's view would be just as limited as the pilot's. The AGM-65 has two types of warheads; one has a contact fuze in the nose, and the other has a heavyweight warhead with a delayed fuze, which penetrates the target with its kinetic energy before firing. The latter is most effective against large, hard targets. The propulsion system for both types is a solid-fuel rocket motor behind the warhead. The Maverick missile is unable to lock onto targets on its own; it has to be given input by the pilot or WSO. In an A-10, for example, the video feed from the seeker head is relayed to a screen in the cockpit, where the pilot can check the locked target of the missile before launch. A crosshair on the HUD is shifted by the pilot to set the approximate target while the missile will then automatically recognize and lock on to the target. Once the missile is launched, it requires no further assistance from the launch vehicle and tracks its target automatically. This makes it a Fire-and-forget weapon. SR-71 "Blackbird" Airshow By TheVidPro The Aviation Place: www.kbvp.com The SR-71 Blackbird was in service from 1964 to 1998 and was operated by the U.S. Air Force from United States and select NATO air bases. Capable of speeds in excess of mach 3+(2,200 mph+) and 85,000 feet, the Blackbird was the most capable platform for strategic reconnaissance. It's ability to launch to a specific target and return with the required intelligence in a matter of hours was unsurpassed by any other platform or country. The SR-71 was developed by the infamous Lockheed Skunk Works and the primary construction material was a Titanium alloy. The two Pratt & Whitney J-58-P4/32,500 lb. thrust engines had aerospikes at the inlet of the engine. The spikes moved in and out in order to control the airflow through the engine during the transition from subsonic to supersonic speeds. This feature, coupled with the afterburners unique design, allowed the SR-71 to cruise in continuous afterburner with a high degree of efficiency.
