Icke stellt zum Teil extreme Thesen auf, die von vielen Lesern als abwegig empfunden werden. Beispielsweise wird nach Ansicht Ickes ein großer Teil der Zivilisation von reptiloiden Minderheiten kontrolliert. Diese reptiloide Minderheit beherrsche es, zwischen einem reptiloid und einem menschlich anmutenden Körper zu wechseln (Icke bezeichnet das als „Shapeshift"). Der Großteil der europäischen Aristiokratie stamme von Blutlinien ab, die sich bis in die Frühaltertum und insbesondere in den sumerischen Kulturkreis zurückverfolgen lassen. Zu diesen Reptiloiden zählt Icke beispielsweise neben führenden Politikern und Aristokraten auch Bob Hope und Kris Kristofferson. Des Weiteren geht Icke davon aus, dass die Erde hohl ist und in ihrem Innern vermutlich eine reptiloid/menschliche Hybridrasse wohnt. Den Erdkern bildet eine kleine Sonne. Wichtige Persönlichkeiten/Politiker wie z.B. George W. Bush (der laut Icke in direkter Linie von Ramses abstammt) werden als von Reptiloiden kontrollierte Satanisten „enttarnt". Die Reptiloiden steuern die Körper der Personen angeblich über zwei Chakren aus der niederen Vierten Dimension heraus. Zudem glaubt Icke, die Reptiloiden wollten den Menschen einen Chip implantieren, um sie so in einem allumfassenden Überwachungsstaat besser kontrollieren zu können. Außerdem, so der Verschwörungstheoretiker, wollten sie das Bargeld abschaffen, so dass jeder mit seinem implantierten Chip zahlen müsse. Icke verbindet einen Großteil „allgemeiner Verschwörungen" zu den Illuminaten und Freimaurern mit den großen Religionen zu einer universellen Verschwörungstheorie" - Icke ist davon überzeugt, dass die Reptiloiden die Schalthebel der Macht in den USA, Großbritannien und einigen weiteren Ländern bereits innehaben. Kritiker von Icke behaupten, seine Thesen seien deutlich antisemitisch. Icke wendet darauf ein, dass von Antisemitismus keine Rede sein könne. Die als antisemitisch beanstandeten Passagen werden von Icke mit Aussagen wie „Die Familie Rothschild sind keine Juden, sondern Reptiloiden, und sie haben das Leben tausender Juden auf dem Gewissen" relativiert.
