Doppelganger: the cheapest kill yet! By MasterZED This Doppelganger "fight" is a must-see if you ever wanted to see Doppelganger killed solo without Awakenings... but if you came here looking for a victory with honor, stop watching. You're not gonna get it from a glitch fanatic like me. This is a culmination of the knowledge I've been gathering over the past day or so. I abused several factors to piece this together: a) Doppelganger is quick to hunt you down, but slow to initialize battle. For this, I lure him toward me and use an instant wheelie to flatten him a split second before he can begin battle, taking him by complete surprise. b) Slepnir wasn't necessary, but I wanted to save a few minutes. Plus it just makes it look that much more brutal when every time I reappear, I'm doing more than half his current HP as damage. c) Doppelganger permits Smoke Screen use, which I abuse to no end with surprise after surprise. Heck, the second surprise strike is a perfect demonstration for how dumb he is; no other monster would have permitted that. d) The Steam Bike shuts down status timers and prevents statuses that work at intervals from having any effect, including Doppelganger's regeneration (you don't see it, but it is active out of battle). With Slepnir's help, you don't need to know this. It's another relic of the original series (the Grunties in the R:1 series do this). Put that all together, and you get a dead Doppelganger, solo, no Awakening necessary. The very end of the vid demonstrates that my surprise attacking Doppelganger counts toward the total even though it shouldn't; I clearly exceed the maximum number of surprises by one.
