[View \| Download]	Heavy Bowgun Guide - Plesioth By legend3594 ~The Plesioth Heavy Bowgun guide~ One rule of thumb I've found as a gunner is that if a monster is frustrating to melee, it's great to range attack. Plesioth is no exception - gunning this creature is truly simple. Firstly, either sonic bombs or Crag/Clust S shots will force it out of the water. This will also force it into rage mode - and Green Plessy in 2G can be quite fast when it's raged. The only time you'll really need to watch out is when you're between it and where it left the water. You'll notice it almost alwats runs back to enter the water at the spot it left, and its running attack can actually do huge damage if it runs over you. Plesioth is very weak to both fire and thunder S, so the armour skills here are used to maximise damage (Elemental Attack Up and Speed Fire) and to avoid the one attack that can hit you (the land swim - so we're using Evade Inc). The strategy is simple: roll away from the water beam and fire until it's about to attack. Then roll again :) It will either water cannon (Shoot down the head with your Thunder S which is a pierce shot or hit the back/fin with your Fire S, a normal shot) or hip smash thin air. G rank Plesioth has two attacks to watch out for, both of which can be simply avoided if you're careful. A new attack is when Plessy rears up and does a semi-circle water blast around it. You can either roll in towards it or back away from it. A good rule is to be just outside where the line of the attack is, which is optimum distance for shot range. The other attack is the land-swim, similar to the one Volganos uses. That's where Evade Inc comes in handy - roll immediately left or right out of the way. If you're standing at the right distance, it should be easily avoided. Try not to stand up against a wall since it'll both affect your camera angle and mean that it's a bit harder to avoid the land swim. Plesioth leaves huge openings for reloading, so while you don't need Speed Fire, spamming recoil-less elemental shots with Elemental Attack Up is devastating. If you're out of element shots, Pierce 3/2/1 down the body, or Normal 2/3 the back/fin or head. It should be well and truly dead before you run out of ammo :) When Plesioth is low on health, its fin will droop down. Don't shoot it in the water if it's this wak, since it's easy to kill it and not get any carves. You'll break the fin with your Thunder/Fire S so it can be tough to tell when it's down, but you'll get used to spotting it. Don't forget to visit Skies of Croda for a full HBG guide :) (c) 2008. [View \| Download]	Heavy Bowgun Guide - Tigrex By christianmitas ~The Tigrex Heavy Bowgun guide~ This is similar in some respects to the Naruga fight: You must react to a Tigrex. Blasting away in its face will get you killed very fast. Always stay close to it, on the right side (it's left side) so you can roll through charges (it raises its left arm at the start of a charge, giving you space to roll through). Never be too far away, since itll homing charge you or start throwing boulders around. If youre new to HBG, then youll need a shield. Stay close, and always focus on safety. Tigrex is easy to handle normally when you start learning to evade around him, but in rage mode its not fun. Its worth sheathing when it gets raged if youre not sure about your abilities. From its left, fire your Thunder S down the body through the head when its not charging. If it charges, evade past it (in a similar way to the Bloses above, from almost 45*) and fire at its retreating form. Sheathe if it gets far away and run up to it, unsheathe and start again. If you stay close enough to it, youll bait it and it wont charge as often. Spam your Normal and Thunder shots, be careful in rage mode and soon enough, itll start raging every hit. When it starts doing this, get ready to capture it. You get better rewards and it takes less time. Remember that when in rage mode, if it jumps twice in a row, it will always stop and do the taunt attack afterwards, a great time to blast it. Hitting the head does the most damage, but if youre standing side on and Thundering through the arms, youll get arm flinches that knock it over, allowing more head shots. [View \| Download]	Heavy Bowgun Guide - Kirin By legend3594 ~ The Kirin Heavy Bowgun Guide ~ Scatter seems magnetically attracted to Kirins horn, so with the damage you will be able to put out, it will almost always be in Rage mode - so beware. You wont need to fine aim, just turn and loose shots. Be aware that evasion is the main priority since a pissed-off Kirin can one-shot you. When it begins an attack, assess your opening. If its not close to you and it starts summoning lightening, fire away at the head 2-3 times, then roll as it starts to face you. If it is doing the targeted thunder summon, dont stop moving until youve avoided the white disc where the thunder will hit. It will often taunt after this move, so avoid the attack and position yourself two rolls away (three without evade inc) from the horn. Blast away if you can... [View \| Download]	Heavy Bowgun Guide - Plesioth By legend3594 ~The Plesioth Heavy Bowgun guide~ One rule of thumb I've found as a gunner is that if a monster is frustrating to melee, it's great to range attack. Plesioth is no exception - gunning this creature is truly simple. Firstly, either sonic bombs or Crag/Clust S shots will force it out of the water. This will also force it into rage mode - and Green Plessy in 2G can be quite fast when it's raged. The only time you'll really need to watch out is when you're between it and where it left the water. You'll notice it almost alwats runs back to enter the water at the spot it left, and its running attack can actually do huge damage if it runs over you. Plesioth is very weak to both fire and thunder S, so the armour skills here are used to maximise damage (Elemental Attack Up and Speed Fire) and to avoid the one attack that can hit you (the land swim - so we're using Evade Inc). The strategy is simple: roll away from the water beam and fire until it's about to attack. Then roll again :) It will either water cannon (Shoot down the head with your Thunder S which is a pierce shot or hit the back/fin with your Fire S, a normal shot) or hip smash thin air. G rank Plesioth has two attacks to watch out for, both of which can be simply avoided if you're careful. A new attack is when Plessy rears up and does a semi-circle water blast around it. You can either roll in towards it or back away from it. A good rule is to be just outside where the line of the attack is, which is optimum distance for shot range. The other attack is the land-swim, similar to the one Volganos uses. That's where Evade Inc comes in handy - roll immediately left or right out of the way. If you're standing at the right distance, it should be easily avoided. Try not to stand up against a wall since it'll both affect your camera angle and mean that it's a bit harder to avoid the land swim. Plesioth leaves huge openings for reloading, so while you don't need Speed Fire, spamming recoil-less elemental shots with Elemental Attack Up is devastating. If you're out of element shots, Pierce 3/2/1 down the body, or Normal 2/3 the back/fin or head. It should be well and truly dead before you run out of ammo :) When Plesioth is low on health, its fin will droop down. Don't shoot it in the water if it's this wak, since it's easy to kill it and not get any carves. You'll break the fin with your Thunder/Fire S so it can be tough to tell when it's down, but you'll get used to spotting it. Don't forget to visit Skies of Croda for a full HBG guide :) (c) 2008. [View \| Download]	Heavy Bowgun Guide - Tigrex By christianmitas ~The Tigrex Heavy Bowgun guide~ This is similar in some respects to the Naruga fight: You must react to a Tigrex. Blasting away in its face will get you killed very fast. Always stay close to it, on the right side (it's left side) so you can roll through charges (it raises its left arm at the start of a charge, giving you space to roll through). Never be too far away, since itll homing charge you or start throwing boulders around. If youre new to HBG, then youll need a shield. Stay close, and always focus on safety. Tigrex is easy to handle normally when you start learning to evade around him, but in rage mode its not fun. Its worth sheathing when it gets raged if youre not sure about your abilities. From its left, fire your Thunder S down the body through the head when its not charging. If it charges, evade past it (in a similar way to the Bloses above, from almost 45*) and fire at its retreating form. Sheathe if it gets far away and run up to it, unsheathe and start again. If you stay close enough to it, youll bait it and it wont charge as often. Spam your Normal and Thunder shots, be careful in rage mode and soon enough, itll start raging every hit. When it starts doing this, get ready to capture it. You get better rewards and it takes less time. Remember that when in rage mode, if it jumps twice in a row, it will always stop and do the taunt attack afterwards, a great time to blast it. Hitting the head does the most damage, but if youre standing side on and Thundering through the arms, youll get arm flinches that knock it over, allowing more head shots. [View \| Download]	Heavy Bowgun Guide - Kirin By legend3594 ~ The Kirin Heavy Bowgun Guide ~ Scatter seems magnetically attracted to Kirins horn, so with the damage you will be able to put out, it will almost always be in Rage mode - so beware. You wont need to fine aim, just turn and loose shots. Be aware that evasion is the main priority since a pissed-off Kirin can one-shot you. When it begins an attack, assess your opening. If its not close to you and it starts summoning lightening, fire away at the head 2-3 times, then roll as it starts to face you. If it is doing the targeted thunder summon, dont stop moving until youve avoided the white disc where the thunder will hit. It will often taunt after this move, so avoid the attack and position yourself two rolls away (three without evade inc) from the horn. Blast away if you can...
